(HPDT)- On the afternoon of October 22, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee made an inspection of Rao bridge construction investment project and Dong Khe 2 road construction investment project - phase 1, from the intersection of Nguyen Binh Khiem and Van Cao to Le Loi Street. Leaders of relevant departments, branches, localities and units also joined the inspection.

Through the inspection, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated Hai Phong Management Board for Traffic Works Construction and Investment Project, local authorities, contractors and relevant units for their great efforts in conducting Rao bridge construction investment project, ensuring the progress requirement of the City. However, the committed deadline for technical open of Rao bridge is approaching, while there remains a lot of construction works. Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho requested localities to complete the clearance works for construction; Project management board, contractors make use of favorable weather conditions to actively organize construction, ensuring absolute labor safety as well as road and waterway traffic safety.

For Dong Khe 2 road construction investment project, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho requested Project Management Board, contractors, and Ngo Quyen District People's Committee thoroughly review and solve the remaining problems in the site clearance, closely follow to organize drastic construction works. He asked Ngo Quyen District Electricity in coordination with Ngo Quyen District People's Committee to urgently relocate the power pole system in the construction area; strive to complete the work and put the road into use before Lunar New Year 2022.

According to Hai Phong Management Board for Traffic Works Construction and Investment Project, about Rao bridge project, the contractor has completed the construction of 27/28 bridge piles and abutments; the casting of 14/20 beam segments; finished 6/8 right branch spans, 4/8 left branch spans; manufactured 3,000 tons of steel structures at 6 factories. 96% of the main span’s steel arch was manufactured while the volume of the span steel arch was 85%, the performance value reached 63% of the contract. Technical infrastructure on the side of Lach Tray road is being dismantled, the pavement structures are being moved and the low-voltage power system being undergrounded by contractors. In terms of site clearance, there remains problems in some places and sections in Ngo Quyen, Le Chan and Hai An district. Currently, the contractors have been gathering over 300 workers and vehicles working day and night, striving to ensure the deadline for technical traffic open of Rao bridge on December 23 (lunar calendar).

Currently, the site clearance for the construction investment project of Dong Khe 2 road - phase 1 has basically been completed, in which there is only one road of about 200m long left. Ngo Quyen District People's Committee is actively communicating and mobilizing households to complete the site clearance work. Besides, the contractor focused on speeding up the construction progress. By October 20, the contractor had built nearly 1.3/1.97km of road length./.
