On the morning of August 26, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho chaired a meeting with relevant sectors, localities and units to listen to the reports on the implementation of Highway 10 ‘s renovation and upgrading project connecting the two bridges Da Bac and Kien one.
According to the Management Board’s report, regarding site clearance, Thuy Nguyen district has completed at Luu Kiem Resettlement Area, approving the compensation plan for more than 100 households in the Kien Bai Resettlement Area, inventorying all the trees of the people on the handed - over public land. At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho lauded for the changes in site clearance work, but the results have still not really met the requirements. To ensure the construction progress, the Vice Chairman suggested that the Project Management Board and Thuy Nguyen district should closely coordinate to speed up the site clearance, in the immediate future, focusing on clearing the resettlement area in Kien Bai commune and assigning the Department of Transport to lead and coordinate with Thuy Nguyen district, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment as well another relevant units to trace the land’s of a number of organizations to developsupport mechanismin line with regulations and to make adjustment if necessary. Vice Chairman assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to guide and support the Project Management Board and Thuy Nguyen district in the site clearance process. The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also noted that, on the existing ground, the contractor must urgently distribute vehicles and equipment into many groups for immediate construction. The construction process should absolutely guarantee traffic safety, labor safety and environmental sanitation.
The project of renovating and upgrading National Highway 10 from Da Bac bridge to Kien bridge has a total investment capital of more than 1,220 billion VND, taken from the city budget, the construction investment scale includes: Renovating, expanding 12.9km of roads and upgrade it to level III plain roadwith4 lanes, building 03 new bridges next to the old ones including: Hang Luong bridge, Gia bridge and Trinh Xa one, 02 resettlement areas, including: Resettlement area in Kien Bai commune with an area of 4.22ha and 224 resettlement lots and the Resettlement Area in Luu Kiem commune covering an area of 4.5hectaresincluding 196 resettlement ones. The project is implemented across8 communes including: Kien Bai, Thien Huong, Thuy Son, Dong Son, Kenh Giang, Luu Kiem, Luu Ky, and Gia Minh (Thuy Nguyen district).
