Hai Phong worked with investors to accelerate progress of important transport projects

Members of Central Party: Mr. Le Van Thanh, Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Chair of the State Capital Management Committee, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the City Party Committee cum Head of Hai Phong Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, leaders of Ministries, Central departments and the City visited and checked progress of the national coastal road.

On January 25 afternoon, Mr. Le Van Thanh, Deptuy Prime Minister led a delegation to check the National Coastal Road Construction Project and projects at Cat Bi International Airport. The delegation was joined by central and the City’s leaders: Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dong, Deputy Minister of Transport; Mr. Tran Luu Quang, member of the Central Party, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of Hai Phong Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of the City People’s Committee; Mr. Pham Van Lap, Chairman of the City People’s Council; Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee and representatives of the city’s departments, agencies and localities.

Mr. Le Van Thanh, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of Hai Phong Delegation of National Assembly Deputies and contractor expressed determination to complete the project on time.

Checking Hai Phong coastal road construction project and 09 km in Thai Binh Province, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh, acknowledged the investor’s difficultiesand requested, the investor to optimize equipment, means and forces to speed up the project’s progress along with the City’s investment, reducing the construction time from 15 months to 10-12 months and striving to complete before the Lunar Tet 2023, in which the investor, Management Board of the Project directed construction units focusing on bridges construction under the project as a motivation to develop next items.

The Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh basically agreed with the City People’s Committee and investor’s suggestion on route planning adjustment in which the road was 8.5km extended to connect with Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway, Hai Phong – Ha Long Highway, Tan Vu – Lach Huyen Road. The Deputy Prime Minister assigned Ministry of Transport to work with the investor and the City People’s Committee to implement the plan as regulated.

Checking the ongoing and future projects implemented in the Cat Bi International Airport, including parking lot construction project (phase 1), cargo terminal project and T2 passenger terminal construction project, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh attached the importance of those projects to not only aviation sector but also Hai Phong City’s development. In fact, the volume of cargoes and passengers passing through Cat Bi International Airport had dramatically grown during recent years. Despite COVID-19’s impact, the (air)port’s development had made a great contribution to Hai Phong City’s socio-economic development. The Deputy Prime Minister required Vietnam Aviation Corporation to work closely with Hai Phong City, Ministries, Central departments and agencies to well manage land clearance. Ministry of Transport took charge and supported Vietnam Aviation Corporation in implementing relevant procedures to soon kick off the projects instead of prolonging the work to avoid affecting general development plan of Hai Phong City./.
