In the vibrant atmosphere of the year’s final days, as nature gently transitions into early spring, the “Homeland Spring – Hai Phong 2026” program has emerged as one of the most eagerly anticipated events for the city and the Hai Phong overseas Vietnamese community across the globe, together with their families. With less than a week to go, the event is scheduled to take place on the afternoon of 9 February 2026 (the 22nd day of the twelfth lunar month in the Year of the Snake) at the Multipurpose Hall of the Hai Phong City Convention and Performance Center. The program will create a warm and heartfelt space for reunion between the homeland and Hai Phong people living abroad, as the traditional Lunar New Year of the Horse draws near.

As of now, through the online registration system, Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs has received a significant number of responses from overseas Hai Phong people and their relatives. Alongside registrations are thoughtful messages, aspirations, and expectations addressed to the city’s leadership, as well as expressions of willingness to support the Organizing Committee during the preparation process. Beyond participation figures, what is most valued is the genuine affection, enthusiasm, and anticipation of returning home to reunite with loved ones, engage in sincere conversations, and share ideas contributing to the development of the homeland city at the beginning of the new spring.
The city is currently finalizing preparations across all areas, including program content, organizational arrangements, logistics, and protocol, to ensure a truly meaningful and intimate event for overseas Hai Phong people during the traditional Lunar New Year. The program will warmly welcome Hai Phong natives from around the world to gather, enjoy a cup of tea, traditional cakes, and Tet specialties from their homeland, and share in the joy of the achievements attained by the country and the city over the past year. At the same time, participants will have an open and candid opportunity to share their challenges, concerns, and aspirations in their journeys of study, work, and international integration in the year ahead. All activities will take place in a close, warm, and sincere atmosphere—like members of one large family united under the name of Hai Phong.
