On the morning of February 29, the flotilla of training ships belonging to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force docked at Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Port to commence a diplomatic visit to the city from February 29 to March 2, 2024. According to the schedule, in the afternoon of February 29, the captain, officers, and sailors of the Japanese training ship squadron conducted a formal visit to the City People's Committee leaders and the Naval Region 1 Command. As part of their itinerary, the delegation engaged in cultural exchange activities, toured various ships, explored local tourist sites, and paid their respects at the Memorial dedicated to the city's heroic martyrs.
