On November 15, 2021, at Le Chan District’s Center of Culture, Information and Sports, Department of Foreign Affairs and Le Chan Party Committee co-hosted the Seminar on “Overview on foreign affairs in the regional and across the world, and Vietnam’s foreign affairs work, problems posted in COVID-19 period”.
Attending the seminar were leaders of Department of Foreign Affairs, Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee of Le Chan District, members of propaganda boards of party committees and grassroot units, the District’s public opinion collaborators; leaders of socio-political organizations; Party Cells’ Secretaries, Heads of wards’ residential groups; retired officials; principals of schools at the District’s area.
At the meeting, delegates listened to Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, the Central reporter, Assistant to the Minister, Head of Press Information Department, cum Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, briefly informing the situation of the world, the region, and Vietnam’s foreign affairs. Regarding to the global situation, COVID-19 pandemic has been occurring sophistically that has challenged the responding capacity of nations. Besides, global politico-security issues have taken place complexly, such as aggressive Chino-American competition. Relationship between the United States and the Russian Federation has become complicated, but has still maintained dialogues and joint announcements on “relationship improvement”. The relationships between China and the Russia Federation, the Russian Federation and EU/NATO, the situation in Eastern Sea … were also mentioned. Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang also analyzed the current situation in Vietnam, such as the continuously complicated situation of the pandemic, step-by-step recovered economy, optimism on the national economy in the medium and long-term. Vietnam has had advantages to continue to stand in the global supply chain and attract foreign investment. The 13th National Congress of Vietnam Communist Party showed new foreign policies, new points in foreign affairs performance, such as national interests, bilateral relation combined with multilateral relation, multilateral relation upgradation, handling issues related to safety and security of maritime lines and sky lines on sea, 03 poles of Vietnam’s diplomacy including Party Foreign Affairs, State and people’s diplomacy, comprehensive and modern diplomatic construction, etc. Regarding Vietnam’s foreign affairs work, the nation has continuously played a positive role at the United Nations and in charge of the non-permanent position at the United Nations’ Security Council, having boosted central position of ASEAN and Vietnam’s advantages, having been positively participating in other multilateral mechanisms (ASEAN, G20, WTO, WHO, etc.); having strengthened economic integration, diplomacy for development and COVID-19 difficulties removement, effective implementation of citizens protection activities, foreign affairs’ information, cultural diplomacy, vaccine diplomacy enhancement, etc. Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang also shared forecasting information on international and regional situation, foreign affairs guidelines of the Central Party and State ongoing time, that has been to implement synchronously, effectively, creatively, and appropriately foreign affairs work in new situation.
