On the afternoon of March 7, 2022, H.E.Mr. Tran Luu Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee had a courtesy meeting with Ms. Rebecca Hall - Commissioner to Southeast Asia of the Government of Victoria (Australia). H.E.Mr. Nguyen Van Tung - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee, H.E.Mr. Le Khac Nam - Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee and representatives of: Office of the City Party Committee, Office of the City People's Committee, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Education and Training, Department of Construction, Department of Planning and Investment; RMIT in Vietnam; Representative Office of the Victorian Government in Ho Chi Minh City; HD MOON Group and Him Lam Group (investors of a large infrastructure projects in Hai Phong) also attended the meeting.
Ms. Rebecca Hall was pleased to represent Victoria - one of the most prosperous states in Australia to meet and discuss with leadership of Hai Phong city regarding cooperation activities between the two localities. She wished to lay a foundation for the bilateral relationship on the basis of trust and support for mutual development. She also hoped to expand cooperation with Hai Phong city in the fields of trade (through promoting the exchange of agricultural products), aviation (opening a direct flight route from Hai Phong to Victoria) and especially education and training. Australia is known as a country with advanced education with favorable learning and working environment. RMIT University (based in Melbourne city - Victoria) is an old and prestigious university in Australia. The school has a training base in Vietnam with 17% of its students coming from Hai Phong and Quang Ninh. This is also one of the advantages to build a base in Hai Phong for undergraduate and postgraduate training activities, research activities, and vocational skill training.

The Secretary also introduced a number of infrastructure investors with great potential that are willing to cooperate and support the construction of Victorian educational facilities in the city. On this occasion, the city committed to support and create all conditions regarding administrative procedures for the project to be well implemented in Hai Phong./.
