In the morning of October 06, 2021, Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs and Incheon Foreign Affairs Division (South Korea) co-hosted an online meeting to discuss strengthening implementation of exchange activities in the frame of bilateral relationship between the two cities ongoing time.

At the meeting, the two departments of foreign affairs discussed implementation of current cooperation activities in the framework of friendship between the two cities, supportive measures for establishment of Hai Phong – Incheon Sejong Institute at Hai Phong city, which is a part of the MoU on strengthening educational and cultural exchanges at Hai Phong city between Hai Phong People’s Committee and the Embassy of Republic of Korea to Vietnam.

Hai Phong shared interest of the city authority to enhance teaching and learning Korean in schools at three levels including kindergarten, junior high school and senior high school level in the city’s area. That would help the youth of Hai Phong city understand the language and culture of Korea as well as contribute to equipping Korean-language-knowing human resources in the long – term at the city. The Incheon side expressed its expectation of boosting cooperation with Hai Phong city in various fields, in which the both cities have had advantages and been interested, including teaching and learning Korean at the city. Hai Phong – Incheon Sejong Institute establishment at Hai Phong city would make a contribution to not only facilitate teaching and learning Korean at the city, but also open new programs and exchange activities in culture and language between the two cities in the future. Still many contents need to be discussed in detail, foreign affairs agencies of the two cities will continue to work closely in research, drafting contents, and giving feasible suggestions in order to support soon realization of Hai Phong – Incheon Sejong Institute at Hai Phong city./.
