Brno is one of the most dynamic and important development centers of the Czech Republic.
Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau visited and worked with leaders of the Czech Republic’s Brno city on December 1 as part of his nine-day working visit to the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Belgium.
Welcoming and working with the delegation were Mayor of Brno Marketa and senior leaders of CTP Group, one of the Czech Republic’s major commercial real estate management and development corporations.
Secretary Le Tien Chau emphasized that the official upgrade of relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic to a strategic partnership in January 2025 opened up a broad cooperation framework, creating favorable conditions to strengthen practical cooperation between ministries, sectors, localities and business communities of both countries. In this context, Hai Phong highly values the role of localities such as Brno in promoting direct, practical and effective cooperation.
Hai Phong and Brno have substantial room for cooperation, especially in manufacturing, precision engineering, smart technologies, robotics and industrial equipment, areas in which Brno excels and Hai Phong has strong demand, Chau said.
Brno, as a leading center of science, technology and innovation in the Czech Republic, also aligns closely with Hai Phong’s strategy to develop research and development centers, innovation hubs and high-tech industrial parks.
Therefore, the Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee believes the two cities can work closely in research and development, technology transfer, connection between research institutes, universities and enterprises, as well as expert and student exchanges.
In the field of energy and green transition, Hai Phong is prioritizing emission reduction in industry, renewable energy development and energy efficiency. Brno’s experience in urban energy management and sustainable industrial transformation will be a highly practical area for cooperation in the coming period.
The Secretary expressed confidence and hope that Brno will support enterprise connection activities, delegation exchanges, sector-specific workshops and market studies. Hai Phong is ready to be a proactive, effective and open partner in implementing concrete cooperation initiatives between the two cities.
Hai Phong also hopes Brno will soon promote the initiative for Hai Phong to establish a twinning relationship with a Czech locality and support the idea of developing a Hai Phong trade center in the Czech Republic in the near future.
On the same day, the delegation conducted field surveys at several industrial parks invested by CTP Group.
Earlier, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau worked with the Embassy of Vietnam in the Czech Republic; had a friendly meeting with representatives of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic and the Vietnam Business Association in the Czech Republic; and attended a formal reception hosted by the Hai Phong Association in the Czech Republic.
