On the occasion of Bunpimay festival of Lao PDR, on the afternoon of April 15, at Hai Phong University, a program on friendship exchanges and gifts giving to Lao students studying at universities in the city was organized by Hai Phong University, The City Union of Friendship Organization and the City Communist Youth Union with the attendance of nearly 300 Lao students. The event was also attended by Mr. Bui Duc Quang, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, and leaders of relevant departments and agencies. The program aimed at encouraging Lao students’ studying spirit, promoting foreign cultural exchanges, embracing international solidarity among the young generation, strengthening Vietnam – Lao Friendship ahead of the 60th anniversary of Vietnam – Lao diplomatic relations (5/9/1962 – 5/9/2022).
On behalf of the city’s leaders, Mr. Bui Duc Quang wished Lao students a peaceful, happy and successful new year, hoping them to continuously unite, strive to study and practice, improve their knowledge to contribute to the construction of their country, as well as preserve and promote the good relationship cultivated and developed by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries. The Vice Chairman also requested universities where Lao students was studying to continuously pay attention and create favorable studying and living condition for these students , ensuring a cozy, joyful and safe atmosphere during this new year festival.
On this occasion, Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Hai Phong City announced the decision on establishing and launching Vietnam - Laos Student Liaison Unit (under Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Hai Phong City)./.
