I. Overview of Vladivostok

  3. Geographical location: Founded in 1860, Vladivostok has now become the administrative center of Primorsky Oblast (Russian Federation) and also the Port city of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy. Vladivostok is not only the Russian ideal gateway to Asia, but is also considered the industrial, transport, scientific and cultural center of the Far East and the whole Russian Federation.
  4. Strength areas: Vladivostok is the industrial, transport, scientific and cultural center of the Far East and the whole Russian Federation. The city economy is associated with shipbuilding, ship repair, and fishing, (also can be mentioned the wood production, chemical, energy, printing, food, construction, and medical sectors).

Golden Bridge

The Golden Bridge spanning the Golden Horn Bay is one of three main bridges of Vladivostok and is also considered one of the typical symbols of “the Far East Pearl".

Fort No. 7

Fort No.7 was built from 1910 to 1916; it is the only fort of Vladivostok marked on the map as combat capable.

Muraviev-Amursky Square

Muraviev Amursky Square is located at the intersection of two central streets of Vladivostok, namely Lazo and Sukhanova. It is also one of the most favorite places of local people and visitors.

Steklyannaya Bay (Glass Bay)

Steklyannaya Bay located on the outskirts of Vladivostok City is famous for its strange beach where various pieces of glass are sanded and polished by the waves into "pebbles" of various shapes and colors.

II. Hai Phong - Vladivostok relations

Hai Phong and Vladivostok have established a good traditional relationship since the 1970s of the last century.

In recent years, the City has participated in many events in Vladivostok. In September 2017, the city delegation attended the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok; in there, Hai Phong signed an agreement on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, and human culture with Primorie Province. In July 2018, Department of Science and Technology attended the International Far East Maritime Exhibition intending to develop the shipbuilding and related industries. As part of a series of activities within the framework of the "cross year" between Russia and Vietnam - 2019 and towards the 50th anniversary of Uncle Ho's death and the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, the City Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association attended the inauguration ceremony of President Ho Chi Minh Monument in Vladivostok City (July 2019). There, the Association has successfully organized a gratitude meeting for Russian veterans who have contributed to Hai Phong City in the cause of building and protecting the City.

Significantly contributing to maintaining the cooperation relationship between Hai Phong and Vladivostok must be mentioned the cooperation between the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association in Vladivostok City and the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association in Hai Phong City, two Associations are considered as a connection in the cooperation process between two cities through participating in many meaningful activities.

On the occasion of the 2nd Red Flamboyant Festival of Hai Phong, Vladivostok's art troupe performed at the Opening Ceremony and other cultural events.

With a solid foundation of cooperation after 70 years of establishing diplomatic relations that the leaders and people of two cities have cultivated over the past years, the relationship between Hai Phong and Vladivostok is expected to be further promoted to contribute to the development of strategic partnership between two countries and traditional friendship between two cities.
