The State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development under the Ministry of Science and Technology co-organized a workshop “Connecting and promoting the overseas Vietnamese resources to support innovative start-ups” in both online and direct formats in Hanoi on July 16.
The workshop aims to attract scientists, technology experts and overseas Vietnamese businessmen to share knowledge and practical experiences for Vietnamese innovative start-up businesses.
In addition, the conference is also expected to bring together the networks of experts and corporations that are operating effectively in Vietnam, aiming to transfer the operating model to the National Innovative Startup Connection Network and cooperate to optimize resources.

The highlight of this workshop will be a signing ceremony of cooperation between the Executive Board of Project 844 and the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese on the development of a network of overseas Vietnamese to support creative, innovative start-ups.
During the workshop, the organizing board will also launch the Global Mentoring Program for V-Startups with the aim of mentoring and supporting Vietnamese startups to solve problems and difficulties that they are facing, in the form of mentoring 1-1 by overseas Vietnamese experts.
With the participation of Vietnamese experts and entrepreneurs in the US, Japan, Australia and typical representatives of the creative and innovative startup ecosystem in Vietnam, the workshop will create a space for all parties to share practical demands and propose effective solutions on forming the network, as a basis for building an action plan after the signing ceremony of cooperation.
Promoting and attracting overseas Vietnamese resources to contribute to the development of the country has been an important element of diplomatic work for many years.
Right after the Prime Minister decided the year of 2016 to be the "National Startup Year", the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese proactively proposed and coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and related agencies to organize a forum on connecting creative start-up businesses of Vietnamese people in the US and Vietnam on December 9, 2017 in San Francisco, the US. After that, the Vietnamese Startup Connection forum at home and abroad, held on June 26, 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City, attracted special attention from experts and young intellectuals both at home and abroad.
Since then, the commission has regularly accompanied agencies and organizations to support young overseas Vietnamese to startup and innovate, such as the annual global startup competitions of Viet Challenge under the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in the US and the innovation competition Hack4growth of the Association of Vietnames Experts and Scientists (AVSE Global)./.
