The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has pledged to consistently support and accompany the Hai Phong Business Association in its commercial activities, contributing to the city’s overall development.

The event was attended by nearly 200 businesses.
This commitment was stated by VCCI Vice President Nguyễn Quang Vinh during the inauguration of the Executive Board of the Hai Phong Business Association.
Vice President Vinh emphasized that Hai Phong—Vietnam’s heroic port city—is not only a major economic, industrial, and seaport hub but also a land steeped in tradition and innovation, home to tens of thousands of businesses devoted to the prosperity of both the city and the nation.
In 2024, Hai Phong maintained its impressive growth momentum, with a GRDP increase of 11.01%, ranking third nationally and marking the 10th consecutive year of double-digit growth. The city is among the top five nationwide in terms of economic scale.
Highlighting Hai Phong’s key strengths, VCCI noted that aside from sustained high economic growth, industrial output has long been a leading force. Notably, the city is among the top destinations for foreign direct investment (FDI), attracting a remarkable USD 4.5 billion in 2024. Alongside this, the city's infrastructure continues to improve, and the business investment environment is becoming more favorable. Another standout is the city’s growing potential in logistics—especially green and sustainable logistics.
Regarding the business community's role, Vinh acknowledged Hai Phong's enterprises have made significant contributions to the city's socio-economic development. Despite various challenges—including the pandemic and global economic volatility—local businesses have successfully advanced, adopted new technologies, expanded production, created jobs for tens of thousands of workers, and actively engaged in social welfare, demonstrating strong community responsibility.
“In the current context, entrepreneurs must contribute in new ways and create new values for the development of society. Today's business leaders not only carry the mission to generate economic benefits but also—through their business activities—create new social values, particularly by pursuing green growth and environmental protection,” emphasized the VCCI Vice President.
To unite the strength of local businesses big and small, and to foster an innovative and robust business community ready for a new era, the Hai Phong Business Association has recently been officially established.
On this milestone, VCCI Vice President stated: “VCCI greatly appreciates the Hai Phong authorities’ initiative in forming the Business Association. We have full confidence in the strong development of Hai Phong’s business community and commit to continuously support the association in its business growth, for the benefit of the city as a whole.”
Regarding strategic directions for the association's effective operation, Vice President Nguyễn Quang Vinh highlighted that businesses and entrepreneurs play the most crucial role in economic development. Going forward, to successfully implement these strategic directions, the Association should develop specific action plans with participation from member businesses and closely coordinate with government agencies. It should also flexibly adjust strategies in response to practical conditions and changes in the city’s or country’s business environment.
Vinh also shared that over the past six months, VCCI has been working closely with Hai Phong on the city’s upcoming hosting of the 3rd APEC Business Advisory Council session. This event will be a major opportunity to attract foreign investment. Global corporations and major businesses from the APEC Business Advisory Council are expected to attend the three-day event in Hai Phong.
“I hope that at this session, leading APEC economy enterprises will come to Hai Phong and commit to investing in the city in the future,” VCCI Vice President Nguyễn Quang Vinh emphasized.
