According to the National Online Conference on reviewing the tasks of the first 6 months and discussing orientations and key tasks in the last months of the year of the National Steering Committee 389 on the morning of August 4, “The current fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods is of modest achievement not commensurate with the actual situation due to the inadequate attention and supervision of several Party committees, local authorities and functional units".

The Conference was chaired by Standing Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the National Steering Committee 389 Pham Binh Minh with the participation of Mr. Ho Duc Phoc, Minister of Finance, Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Deputy Minister of Defense, Deputy Head of Steering Committee as well as leaders of relevant central ministries and branches.
Regarding Hai Phong’s participants, there were Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Head of the City Steering Committee 389 along with leaders of functional departments and agencies.

In the first half of 2022, the National Steering Committee 389 had actively and effectively implemented the Government’s and Prime Minister’s resolutions and directions; formulated and carried out the year plan; concentrated forces, means and combined measures on both managing COVID-19 epidemic and positively fighting against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
According to Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, over the past time, Hai Phong Steering Committee 389 had strengthen inspection and detection for effective prevention of smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the city with positive achievements, in which the coordination among functional forces would be further tightened in the coming time.
Deputy Prime Minister affirmed the enormous quantities of tasks by the end of 2022, including the field of trade, import and export. Therefore ,there should be more drastic measures in response to counterfeit goods, smuggling, trade fraud and low-grade goods.
