(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of October 29, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation chaired the meeting of Standing Committee of the City Party Committee for listening to reports and giving directions for orientation proposals on building the economic development model of Hai Phong City up to 2030 presented by Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management. Attending the meeting together, there were: Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Members of Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, the City People's Committee; Leaders of departments, sectors, units, businesses and Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management.

At the meeting, leaders of Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management presented reports on orientation proposals for building the economic development model for Hai Phong city up to 2030. In reports, the position of competitiveness and attractiveness of Hai Phong City were emphasized and compared to 10 provinces with competitive capacity and leading position in Vietnam; analyzed the bottlenecks that cause lower results than expected ones and pointed out the decisive factors for the success of Hai Phong City; as well as suggested orientations and development models up to 2030 for the City...
Members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee gave speeches at the meeting
Members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and delegates analyzed and discussed frankly about the socio-economic development indicators of the City over the past time. The delegates basically agreed with the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities pointed out by advisory unit; thence, it is recommended that advisory unit continue to research and clarify some issues as follows: budget revenue and expenditure, economic structure, productivity and income, population and labor, urbanization, social infrastructure, development investment, administrative reform, tourism development, logistics, digital transformation... At the same time, it is suggested that the advisory unit should pay attention to specific priority solutions for the City in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized the goals stated in Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW of the Politburo. In order to achieve those goals, the City must take breakthrough steps; therefore, the city has invited experts with extensive experience to research and evaluate the development of Hai Phong so that it can point out the opportunities and challenges of the City in the process of implementing and achieving objectives set out in Resolution No.45-NQ/TW.
Secretary of the City Party Committee expressed the sincere thanks to the advisory unit for providing frank and reliable information with many new opinions and He also suggested that advisory unit fully absorb the opinions of delegates at the meeting to summarize and propose specific measures in the coming time.
