On the morning of October 4, the Standing Committee of the City’s Council held a meeting to (1) evaluate working results of the first 9 months of 2021; (2) announce key tasks to implement in October and the 4th quarter of 2021; (3) respond to the recommendations by voters at the 2nd meeting of the 16th People's Council and agree on the expected thematic and regular meetings at the end of the year. During the first 9 months of 2021, despite the complicated development of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Standing Committee and other committees of the City People's Council continuously renewed their working methods towards a flexible, practical, focused manner to closely follow, promptly and effectively implement the guidelines and resolutions of the City Party Committee, thus contributing to the successful completion the proposed plan. The Standing Committee and other committees of the City People's Council successfully organized the conference to summarize the tasks of the 2016-2021 term, actively and responsibly coordinated in directing the preparation and implementation of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term which contributed to the successful completion of the city’s election; prepared and successfully organized 2 meetings of the City People's Council with important contents regarding the consolidation and strengthening of the key leadership apparatus and decision on important policies for economic development and social welfare...

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Van Lap, Chairman of the City People's Council emphasized that in October and the last months of 2021, the City People's Council needs to highly focus on preparing contents for the thematic meetings and regular meeting at the end of 2021. It is also necessary to consider and solve the issues arising from two meetings, well implement the supervision, meeting with voters and participation in law-making programs, law projects to submit to the National Assembly according to the request of the National Assembly Standing Committee and other legal documents issued by the Central Government and the city.

Regarding the preparation for the thematic meeting scheduled on October 15 and the regular meeting at the end of 2021 (expected from December 8 to 10), with the following contents: (1) Decision on investment policy for “Build digital government” project, specific policies on COVID-19 prevention and control in the city; (2) For the supplement of the list of projects and important contents as prescribed by law, the Chairman of the City People's Council requested the City People's Committee to direct the departments and agencies to closely and regularly coordinate with the City People's Council in the preparation of reports, statement and drafted resolutions to ensure the compliance with legal regulations and good quality before submitting to the City’s Council for consideration and resolution with the aim to meet the practical requirements and expectation of the City’s Council voters and citizens.
