In implementation of Hai Phong’s 2025 theme: "Expanding economic and urban space; leveraging special mechanisms and policies; promoting green and digital transition," on March 6, 2025, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority organized a seminar titled "Green Transition in Industrial Parks for the Sustainable Development of Hai Phong City."
This event is one of the Authority’s actions to affirm its role in responding to the city’s annual theme and addressing the development requirements of industrial zones (IZs) and economic zones (EZs) under the new circumstances.
Held at the City Convention Center, the seminar featured two sessions of presentations and panel discussions with the participation of more than 20 speakers. It served as a forum for discussion and exchange of orientations, solutions, experiences, and recommendations regarding green transition in industrial parks for Hai Phong’s sustainable development in the context of deep and comprehensive international integration, the strong advancement of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and rising sustainability demands.
The seminar attracted 400 delegates, including leaders from central government agencies; embassies and international organizations; departments and agencies; People's Committees of districts and Thuy Nguyen city; experts, researchers, administrators, businesses, domestic organizations, and investors operating in IZs and in the Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone.
Numerous presentations and discussions were delivered by experts, leaders of organizations, and domestic and international enterprises, addressing topics such as: eco-industrial parks, circular economy, industrial symbiosis, greenhouse gas emission reduction, carbon tracing, ESG, green port development, and green credit. The event also introduced ideas to effectively implement green and digital transition in Hai Phong's industrial and economic zones in the coming period.
The seminar is expected to offer many practical proposals and initiatives, serving as a foundation for the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority to formulate programs, plans, and specific solutions for synchronized and effective implementation of green transformation and breakthrough development of green industrial and economic zones, making significant contributions to achieving the city's 2025 theme.
