(HPĐT)- On the evening of November 5, the Opening Ceremony of the National Drama Festival 2021 was organized by the Department of Performing Arts in collaboration with the Vietnam Stage Artists' Association and Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports at Thang Tam (August) Theater.

The ceremony was attended by: Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Steering Committee of the National Drama Festival 2021; People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association as well as leaders of the General Political Department (Ministry of National Defense), Department of Party and Political Affairs (Ministry of Public Security), Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in provinces and cities, the Steering Committee, the Arts Council, a large number of actors, artists, and leaders of relevant agencies participated in the National Drama Festival - 2021.
Delegates of Hai Phong city includes Mr. Tran Luu Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Van Tung - Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Pham Van Lap - Chairman of the City People's Council; Mrs. Dao Khanh Ha - Head of the City Committee for Information Dissemination; Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; and leaders of the city’s departments and agencies.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ta Quang Dong – Deputy Minister of the Culture, Sports and Tourism and Mr. Le Khac Nam – Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee stressed that This year Drama Festival was an opportunity for artists to showcase their talents as well as their desire to create, dedicate, and nurture the fire of passion for their profession. Hai Phong city is not only one of the socio-economic centers of the Northern Coast region and the whole country, but also a locality of well developed culture and art including the preservation, protection and promotion of traditional art’s unique values. On the process of development and integration, the city has actively concretized the guidelines and tasks directed by the Party Central Committee and the Government; paid attention to economic development for enhancing people’s material and spiritual living standards whereas construction of healthy – civilized and modern culture environment and promotion of the national cultural identity had been prioritized. The National Drama Festival 2021 once again affirmed and promoted the image of a modern and developed port city to the artists, people across the country and friends from all over the world.

The opening ceremony started with a special art program as a warm welcome that featuring the beauty of the land and the people of Hai Phong to participants, artists and actors to the port city with a series of the songs: “Gather in the city of waves", "Shall you come to Hai Phong with me", "Hai Phong takes off". After the art program, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, City Party Committee, City People's Council and the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association presented flags and flowers to the Art Council’s members and 14 art agencies participating in the Festival.

Right after the opening ceremony, an emotional play about family named "Skyline" was performed by Hai Phong Drama Troupe.

The National Drama Festival 2021 was participated by 14 art troupes with 20 plays and 600 artists and actors across the country. The closing ceremony of the National Drama Festival 2021 will take place at Thang Tam Theater on the evening of November 16.
