On the afternoon of October 21, Transportation Ministry’s delegation led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang had a meeting with Hai Phong City on maritime and inland waterways related issues.
Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung hosted and worked with the delegation. Attending the meeting were Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Tho, and leaders of relevant departments and units.
At the meeting, the City requested the Transportation Ministry to soon submit to the Prime Minister for approval of relevant plans in accordance with regulations to ensure synchronization of central and local plans. Regarding road construction investment after completion of Terminal 3 and Terminal 6 of Lach Huyen port, Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company and Hateco Group Joint Stock Company have proposed investment measures for construction of roads and temporary road(s) serving terminals and supportive construction. Hai Phong City required the Ministry of Transport to soon conduct contents for City to implement Hai Phong – Ninh Binh expressway construction investment project which section is from Hanoi-Hai Phong Highway to the coastal road; and give opinions on the location, boundary, and the marine area for aquaculture, etc.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang acknowledged that the City has actively implemented tasks under its responsibilities, and Ministry of Transport will soon designate relevant units to collaborate with the City and units to ensure the progress of the implementation of works as planned./.
