(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On February 23 morning, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Hoang Minh Cuong hosted a meeting with relevant departments to listen to reports on the Project of developing population data, electronic identification and authentication for the national digital transformation in the period of 2022-2025, vision to 2030, which had been approved by the Prime Minister on January 06, 2022.

The Project’s general target was to well deploy the national database on population, electronic identification and authentication, chip-based identification card for 5 main purposes: solving administrative procedures and providing online public service; contributing to socio-economic development; accelerating digital citizenship; building an ecosystem for population data connection, deployment, supplementation and supporting all-leveled leadership.

Attaching the great significance of the national database on population, electronic identification and authentication to the City’s socio-economic development with various immediate and long-term benefits, Mr. Chairman requested the City’s Police to work with Department of Information and Telecommunications to urgently build up specific programs, plans, and roadmaps for the Project implementation; and to give advice on establishing a Steering Committee for the Project implementation. During the planning process, the two departments must (1) clearly identify difficulties, reporting the City’s leaders for active solutions; (2) guarantee deadlines and key tasks; (3) guarantee the synchronous and consistent implementation with inter-department close collaboration.
