The World Cities Summit (WCS) has been convened biennially since 2008 through the efforts of Singapore, in collaboration with the Center for Liveable Cities (CLC) and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) of Singapore. Noteworthy components of the Summit include the WCS Mayors Forum, the Lee Kuan Yew World City Awards, and the WCS Young Leaders Symposium. This event serves as a global platform for governmental officials and industry professionals to tackle the complexities of sustainable and habitable urban environments, exchange comprehensive urban strategies, and cultivate innovative partnerships. To date, over 250 cities worldwide have participated in this initiative, with representation from governmental bodies, corporations, international organizations, and academia.

The three-day WCS 2024 encompasses the primary conference along with significant auxiliary events such as the WCS Mayors Forum, the WCS Young Leaders Symposium, the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew World Awards Banquet and Awards Ceremony, as well as multiple exhibitions. The conference will revolve around distinct themes, namely: Urban Centers for Humanity, Cities of Resilience and Regeneration, Intelligent Urban Environments, Sustainable Urban Finance, and the Cities of Tomorrow. Each theme will feature plenary sessions and in-depth discussions, as well as exclusive meetings and round-table discussions, collaboratively organized with key strategic partners to ensure a comprehensive and diverse discourse.

The conference convened representatives from 90 cities worldwide. Here, participants will share insights on urban development challenges, including climate change, the fourth industrial revolution, sustainable economy, demographic aging, and enhancements to the urban environment.
