The Consulate General of Vietnam as a Bridge Between Hai Phong and Yunnan (China)

During their visit to China, on August 8th, the Hai Phong city delegation, led by Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation, visited the historical site of President Ho Chi Minh's residence in Kunming, Yunnan Province, and worked with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming. The delegation included members of the City Party Committee Standing Board and leaders of various municipal departments and agencies. Also present were leaders of Yunnan Province’s Foreign Affairs Office and Wuhua District, Kunming.
The historical site is located at Nanhuashan Street, spanning houses No. 89 to No. 91. The three-story brick and wooden structure is situated near the People's Government headquarters of Wuhua District, Kunming. Here, the city delegation learned about President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities in China before returning to Vietnam in 1941. The former residence of President Ho Chi Minh was one of the places where he carried out revolutionary activities to find a path to save the nation in the years 1940-1941. The site features many valuable photos and documents of President Ho Chi Minh during his time living and working there. Recognizing its historical, cultural, and educational significance, the house was designated as a cultural heritage site by Kunming City in 2011 and by Yunnan Province in 2019.  To preserve and promote the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam and enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges, Yunnan Province’s Foreign Affairs Office and the Department of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Kunming.
