On the morning of June 29, Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority in collaboration with the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the British Chamber of Commerce, and Sao Do Investment Group JSC organized a conference on the investment promotion "Renewable energy in sustainable industrial parks"

At the conference, Mr. Le Trung Kien, Member of the City Party Committee’s Standing Board, Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority affirmed that renewable energy development was an inevitable trend in the current energy sector in Vietnam and over the world as well. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), strongly committed by Vietnam, had also set a target of net-zero emissions by the middle of this century.

According to Resolution No.45-NQ/TW of the Politburo, Hai Phong is determined to become a leading city of the country in the cause of industrialization and modernization. Currently, with 13 industrial parks in operation, the City has attracted 633 projects with a total investment capital of approximately 34.6 billion USD. In the period of 2021-2025, 10-12 new industrial parks are expected to be established on an area of nearly 6,000 hectares.


In the first 6 months of 2022, Economic Zone Authority has continuously made efforts to improve the business investment environment, reform administrative procedures, as well as implement a flexibly and effectively investment promotion program. The investment attraction orientation of spearhead industries is a mandatory factor laying foundation for the city development, especially in industrial development.


At the conference, participants witnessed the signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation agreement among three parties: Shire Oak International Group, Sao Do Investment Group Joint Stock Company, Nam Dinh Vu Electricity Trading Joint Stock Company (NDVESCO) on investing in renewable energy in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park.
The conference opened up a sustainable future for Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park in particular and Hai Phong in general on the deployment of renewable energy in industrial parks with numerous benefits in operation as well as production and business activities.
