On the afternoon of January 26, the City Union of Friendship Organizations held a meeting of Executive Committee to consolidate personnel, review people-to-people diplomacy in 2021 and deploy tasks in 2022. Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Union of Friendship Organizations attended and chaired the conference.

The Conference consolidated the Executive Committee and key positions of the Union, dismissed 07 people, including 02 Vice Chairmen and 05 members of the Union Executive Committee; additionally elected 6 members of the Union Executive Committee for the term of 2018-2023; elected 2 Vice Chairmen of the Union for the term of 2018-2023.

Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Union of Friendship Organizations presented flowers to the retired comrades and congratulated newly elected members of Executive Committee and Vice Chairmen of the Union.
In 2022, the Union identified five key tasks and works, focusing on peace, solidarity, friendship and people-to-people cooperation; fostering practical and effective people-to-people diplomacy, closely comply with COVID-19 prevention and control in new situations. Besides, it was also among the key tasks to actively develop plans and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to well implement foreign non-governmental affairs; improve the effectiveness of researching and advising on people-to-people diplomacy, strengthen information dissemination and propaganda of people-to-people diplomacy in new situations; proactively coordinate with the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the City Overseas Vietnamese Liaison Association to effectively implement the policy of great national unity; continuously build and develop a solid and united organization...

Mr. Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Union of Friendship Organizations presented certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in people-to-people diplomacy in 2021.
In 2021, under the impacts of COVID-19 epidemic, the Union had been proactive and flexible in directing and coordinating with its member organizations, relevant departments, branches and units to guarantee safe and efficient programs in the new normal. People-to-people diplomacy had achieved numerous results, granting money, gifts, scholarships to 30 children and grandchildren of revolutionaries infected with Agent Orange; organize Humanitarian Market program with 205 gifts, coordinate with relevant units to organize Voluntary Blood Donation Day; strengthening cooperation and mobilizing state non-governmental aid; accelerating external information dissemination; mobilizing and enlist supports of organizations, individuals, overseas Vietnamese in developing the homeland and country...
