The City People's Committee organized a workshop and worked with the Danish Embassy on the Vietnam - Denmark Energy Partnership Program (DEPP) to cooperate on offshore wind power

On March 14, the Municipal People's Committee collaborated with the Danish Embassy in Vietnam and the Danish Energy Agency to convene a seminar focused on enhancing the Vietnam - Denmark Energy Partnership Program (DEPP) in relation to offshore wind energy.

Conference attendees were enlightened by the insights shared by Danish specialists regarding the insights gained from three decades of offshore wind power advancement in Denmark, as well as the data and statistics pertaining to offshore wind technology and spatial organization. Discussions encompassed marine aspects, licensing procedures, employment opportunities, and skills enhancement. Furthermore, attendees had the privilege of listening to the Vietnam Petroleum Institute delegates as they presented their research findings on the development of ports for offshore wind power in Vietnam.

Subsequently, the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade chaired a meeting with representatives from various departments and sectors to discuss upcoming projects with the Danish delegation. The Danish representatives informed the city that Danish consultants would be visiting Hai Phong in April 2024 for a survey, and requested the city's assistance in facilitating meetings with relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, in May 2024, the Danish side plans to collaborate with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to host a workshop on marine spatial planning for offshore wind power, with the intention of inviting representatives from Hai Phong to participate.
