The City Constantly Supports and Creates Favorable Conditions for Enterprises to Operate in Production and Business

On the afternoon of September 20, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee, hosted a working visit from the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, led by Mr. Chang Ho-Seung, the Counselor and Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam. Attending the meeting were representatives from various city departments and relevant units.

On behalf of the city authority, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong expressed sincere thanks to Counselor and Consul General Chang Ho-Seung for taking the time to inquire about the aftermath of Typhoon No. 3 and the recovery efforts in Hai Phong. He provided the delegation with detailed information about the damages caused by the typhoon and the concerted efforts of the local government, authorities, and the people in addressing the damage and quickly restoring essential infrastructure to support daily life. As of now, the city has largely restored telecommunication, electricity, and water supply systems. Port operations have returned to normal, and over 95% of businesses in industrial zones are back to normal operation. City authority also visited and encouraged the Hai Phong Korean Association and LG Display at the Trang Duệ Industrial Zone, expressing solidarity with Korean businesses affected by the typhoon and hoping that they would quickly overcome the aftermath and resume production.
In the upcoming period, Hai Phong will continue to focus on repairing dikes and other damaged infrastructure. The city is proactively mobilizing local resources and other legal funding sources to address the consequences of Typhoon No. 3. Hai Phong remains committed to supporting foreign enterprises in general, and Korean businesses in particular, by creating favorable conditions for effective production in compliance with regulations. Regarding the delegation’s suggestions on resolving difficulties faced by Korean businesses in the area, the city will assign relevant agencies and units to study and advise the People's Committee on the best policies and mechanisms to help enterprises stabilize and resume business operations as soon as possible.

In his remarks, Mr. Chang Ho-Seung, the Counselor and Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, expressed his condolences to the government and people of Hai Phong for the heavy losses caused by Typhoon No. 3. He commended the city’s remarkable efforts and quick recovery after the disaster. In order to support the people of Vietnam, including Hai Phong, the government of the Republic of Korea has provided 2 million USD in aid. Additionally, Korean businesses in Vietnam are actively contributing and cooperating with local authorities to help with the recovery as quickly as possible. Mr. Chang emphasized that Hai Phong is one of the key locations in Vietnam with many Korean businesses and citizens. Over time, the local leadership and government have always been supportive, creating favorable conditions for business activities. As a result, during Typhoon No. 3, these businesses were able to minimize damages and quickly resume operations. He expressed the hope that in the future, Korean businesses would continue to receive support from the city to stabilize their operations and business activities.
