On April 24, Hai Phong University, in collaboration with the University of Economics – University of Hue, Hanoi University, the Institute of Policy and Development, Tomsk University (Russian Federation), and Sofia University (Bulgaria), organized a scientific seminar titled “Sustainable Economic Development: Opportunities and Challenges” at Hai Phong University.
The seminar was attended by 200 delegates, including scholars, lecturers, and students from the University of Economics – University of Hue, Hanoi University, the Institute of Policy and Development, Tomsk University (Russia), Sofia University (Bulgaria), as well as faculty, researchers, and experts from government agencies, research institutions, and domestic businesses. Three international speakers also participated online.

The seminar took place when Vietnam and countries around the world are facing unprecedented and complex challenges, including the impacts of climate change, the depletion of natural resources, threats to ocean ecosystems, biodiversity loss at an alarming rate, and most recently, the global COVID-19 pandemic and non-traditional security challenges. In her opening speech, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Nhà emphasized that organizing this seminar with the participation of numerous lecturers and experts in the field of economics provided a valuable opportunity to present the latest research and share experiences in achieving sustainable development goals. The lively discussions centered on exploring new and effective economic models, underscoring the importance of sustainable economic development in the context of globalization and climate change.
The seminar featured several sessions focusing on key topics such as: Green and Regenerative Economies; Digital Transformation in the Economy; Social Equity Development; Sustainable Finance.
The seminar on "Sustainable Economic Development: Opportunities and Challenges" ended successfully, contributing to the promotion of sustainable economic development in Vietnam.
