Successful Conference on 20 Years of Family Medicine Collaboration and Development in Vietnam

From October 22th-23th, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Wallonie Bruxelles Delegation in Vietnam, successfully organized the conference "20 Years of Cooperation, Building, and Developing Family Medicine in Vietnam: Achievements, Challenges, and Directions."
Over 100 delegates attended the event, including representatives from the Ministry of Health, local authorities, leading family medicine experts in Vietnam, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, psychologists from universities within the Vietnam-Belgium Family Medicine Project, and healthcare staff from primary care units. During the conference, participants discussed topics such as the development direction of the Vietnamese healthcare system, the role and qualifications of preventive medicine doctors, policy alignment, and healthcare competency frameworks. These discussions focused on curriculum reforms, family medicine training, and the challenges and opportunities for inter-sectoral cooperation in healthcare.
The conference also provided valuable insights into the implementation of family medicine education, research, and clinical practice nationwide. It encouraged innovation and collaboration among project partners, aiming to enhance the quality of family medicine training, scientific research, and basic healthcare practice.
