On the afternoon of April 22, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung, Head of the City Plan Steering Committee, hosted a meeting on Mid-term report on Hai Phong City’s Master Plan for the period of 2021-2030, vision to 2050. The meeting was leaders of departments, agencies, urban and rural districts, consultant units, and experts in master planning field.
Addressing the meeting, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung underlined that the City’s Master plan had been an important task, a scientist base for governance at all levels to direct tasks in economic and social development. According to the Master plan, targeting by 2030, Hai Phong would become a leading city across the country in industrialization and modernization; owning synchronous transport infrastructure; by 2050, Hai Phong would be listed in the group of developed cities in Asia and the world.
Nonetheless, the City’s Master plan’s progress has been slow in comparison with set schedule. Chairman of the City People’s Committee requested departments, agencies, and units to focus on discussion the main contents of the Master plan’s report, continue researching and completing the Master plan in June 2022, submitting the City People’s Council for approval in July 2022 before summited to Prime Minister for approval afterwards, guaranteeing the highest quality of the Master plan./.
