On the morning of June 13, at the Hai Phong City Convention Center, Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, and Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation, warmly welcomed Mr. Orlando Hernández Guillén, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam. Joining the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, along with representatives from various departments and agencies.
Ambassador Orlando Hernández Guillén expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the city’s gracious reception and shared his admiration for Hai Phong’s impressive development. He pledged to enhance communication, build stronger connections, and foster greater collaboration between Cuban localities and Hai Phong, particularly in areas such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and tourism, creating abundant opportunities for future cooperation.
Secretary Le Tien Chau lauded the ambassador’s visit, emphasizing its significance in furthering the deep-rooted friendship between Vietnam and Cuba. He reaffirmed Vietnam's, and especially Hai Phong's, profound gratitude for Cuba's unwavering support during Vietnam’s fight for independence, as well as its contributions to the country’s development and prosperity. Mr. Chau voiced his confidence that the ambassador’s dedication and enthusiasm would further cement the enduring bond between the two nations and open up new avenues for collaboration.
The Secretary also took the opportunity to share Hai Phong's remarkable achievements in socio-economic growth and foreign investment attraction.
