On the morning of May 12, at the Haiphong City Press and Media Center, a delegation from the People’s Government of Nanning City (China), led by Comrade Zhang Zi’an, Member of the Nanning Municipal Party Standing Committee and Head of the Nanning Municipal Party Committee’s Propaganda Department, held a working session with the Haiphong City Press and Media Center. The visit took place within the framework of the 2025 Haiphong Red Flamboyant Flower Festival.
The delegation was welcomed by Comrade Pham Van Tuan, Member of the Haiphong City Party Committee and Director of the Haiphong Press and Media Center, along with representatives from the center’s professional departments.
In his speech, Comrade Pham Van Tuan expressed his delight in welcoming the Nanning delegation to Haiphong during the city’s joyous celebrations of the 70th Anniversary of Haiphong’s Liberation, the 2025 Red Flamboyant Flower Festival, and the recognition of Haiphong as a Heroic City. He provided an overview of the Haiphong Press and Media Center—the official media outlet of the city’s Party Committee, government, military, and people—which operates radio, television, print newspapers (daily and weekend editions), e-newspapers, and produces multilingual news bulletins (in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and English) across digital platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Fanpage, Zalo, and the THPOn app).
In response to the delegation’s cooperation proposals, the Haiphong Press and Media Center took note and will report to the Standing Board of the Haiphong City Party Committee for further steps. Comrade Pham Van Tuan requested that Nanning share expertise and support, particularly in areas of strength such as technology and AI applications in program production, to enhance the efficiency and quality of media cooperation between the two cities.
Expressing deep admiration for Haiphong’s dynamic and robust development, Comrade Zhang Zi’an stated: "In the context of the increasingly comprehensive, substantive, and effective Vietnam-China relationship, the traditional friendship and cooperation between Haiphong and Nanning have favorable conditions to expand and develop across multiple fields."
Comrade Zhang Zi’an particularly emphasized the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in media collaboration, including program production, news broadcasting, and AI-powered virtual hosts, to improve communication quality, widely promote the cities’ images, and strengthen mutual understanding and bonds between their people.
The working session reaffirmed both sides’ commitment to deepening comprehensive cooperation, further solidifying the long-standing friendship and partnership between Haiphong (Vietnam) and Nanning (China).
