Strengthening international cooperation in technology transfer

Promoting international cooperation in technology transfer, mastery, and development is a vital strategy that enables local businesses to access modern technological advancements, enhance their competitiveness, and contribute to sustainable development.

In 2024, the Hai Phong People’s Committee directed municipal departments and agencies to focus on building and refining mechanisms and policies to support enterprises in seeking, transferring, and applying advanced technologies from abroad. Plan No. 177/KH-UBND, issued on August 5, 2024, aims to maintain and improve the local innovation index, creating favorable conditions for businesses to connect with international partners. This policy includes supportive measures such as identifying technological needs, providing consultancy, establishing connections, and training human resources.

Additionally, Hai Phong has intensified its efforts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) projects accompanied by technology transfer. Programs focusing on workforce training cooperation, value chain development, and human resource quality improvement have laid a solid foundation for local businesses to adopt advanced technologies.

The Hai Phong Technology and Equipment Exchange (Hatex.vn) has also played a significant role in connecting domestic and international businesses. With thousands of technology-related updates regularly available, this platform has become an effective channel for businesses to search for and exchange technology.

Hai Phong’s focus is not limited to the manufacturing sector but extends to supporting industries, high-tech agriculture, and environmental technology. Projects such as recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) in fisheries, Biofloc technology, and the application of Industry 4.0 technologies have proven effective in increasing productivity and minimizing environmental impact.

With a long-term vision, the city continues to develop mechanisms to encourage cooperation and foster technology transfer in key economic sectors. This strategy not only supports Hai Phong’s sustainable development but also serves as a driving force to elevate the city’s position on the national technology and innovation map.
