Strengthening cooperation between the Netherlands and Hai Phong city in the field of seaports and logistics

In the afternoon of March 20, Chairman Nguyen Van Tung of the City People's Committee graciously received a delegation from the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, headed by Minister Mark Harbers. Also in attendance were Ambassador Kees van Baar of the Netherlands to Vietnam, as well as officials from the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, the Dutch Embassy in Vietnam, and representatives from various city departments and branches.

During the assembly, the Chairman of the City People's Committee elucidated various aspects of Hai Phong. Presently, the city boasts a deep-water seaport, an international airport, and a well-connected road network linking different areas. Additionally, Hai Phong extends a warm welcome to and provides numerous incentives for enterprises looking to invest in local economic zones.

As of present, Hai Phong boasts a total of 16 Dutch foreign direct investment projects, amounting to a collective investment capital exceeding 302 million USD, positioning it as the 10th highest recipient of FDI capital in Hai Phong and the 9th in terms of project quantity.

During the meeting, Mr. Mark Harbers expressed his gratitude to the city for graciously hosting the delegation to collaborate in Hai Phong and noted the longstanding history of maritime cooperation between the two sides. The Minister commended the city's departments and branches for their dedicated efforts in enhancing the investment climate and facilitating business investments. He expressed optimism that, apart from the ongoing projects of Dutch enterprises in Hai Phong, a multitude of Dutch companies from various sectors will also consider investing in the region in the foreseeable future.
