On the morning of April 20, Chairman of the City People's Committee Mr. Nguyen Van Tung inspected the vaccination against COVID-19 at Tran Phu Secondary School (Le Chan District). Attending the delegation were leaders of related departments, branches and localities.
As planned, the City will organize vaccination against COVID-19 for children aged 5 - 11 years old at three schools. The vaccination campaign is expected to last for 3 months. The health sector will implement vaccination to 6th grade students, and then gradually decrease with age for safe monitoring.
Through actual inspection, Chairman Nguyen Van Tung assessed that units had coordinated to prepare carefully and seriously, ensuring the safety for children during the vaccination process. Chairman also emphasized that vaccines are the most important shield in the prevention of COVID-19 epidemic. Besides, sectors need to develop scenarios and plans to prevent possible epidemic situations with non-subjective, non-negligent, non-lethargic manners.
According to reports of Hai Phong Department of Health, by 18:00 on April 19, 2022, there were 4,364,608 doses of COVID-19 vaccine injected in the city area. In which, there were 4,027,533 doses injected for adults; 337,075 doses injected for children aged 12-17 years old.
