(HPDT)- On the morning of November 25, at the City Convention Center, Standing Committee of the City People's Council held the meeting with voters who were former city leaders about the contents of the 4th session of the 16th City People's Council. Mr. Pham Van Lap, Chairman of the City People's Council chaired the meeting.

Attending the meeting, there were: Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Vice Chairmen of the People's Council, the City People's Committee and leaders of the city’s departments and agencies.

Voters expressed their excitement and appreciation for outstanding results in the city's socio-economic development in 2021. They emphasized that in 2021, the City dealt with many difficulties and challenges due to the complicated situation of COVID-19 epidemic, especially the fourth epidemic outbreak, affecting the implementation of socio-economic development plan in 2021. However, the City continued to take advantage of attention, support and facilitation of the Party, National Assembly, Government and central ministries, departments, branches for the cause of city development; the participation of whole political system, the support and sharing of people from all walks of life, business community, so the city's socio-economic still maintains its growth momentum. Hai Phong has achieved and exceeded 13/19 socio-economic development targets. The City continued to start construction and inaugurate a number of major works and projects in the fields of traffic and urban areas, contributing to completing and improving the infrastructure system, creating a new appearance and strength in industrial sector, service, urban development; culture and education activities, social security are interested and have new achievements. In particular, Party building and mass mobilization were focused and achieved comprehensive results... Voters and people of whole city are excited, proud, and believe in the leadership and development of the City.

Former city leaders gave speeches and affirmed that the achievement of city's socio-economic development in 2021 are thanks to solidarity, high consensus, dynamism, creativity and drastic actions of Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the collective Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the People's Council, the City People's Committee and all departments, branches and localities in performing their tasks; especially, activities of dialogue, inspection and removal of obstacles in site clearance, project implementation and enterprise recommendations are carried out seriously with high responsibility.

Voters also expressed many recommendations related to the following issues: to develop the agricultural economy in a more dynamic and sustainable direction; improve the efficiency of using public investment capital; continue to strengthen the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures that are both remaining the safe, flexible, effective control of epidemic and recovering the economic development. Voters who are former city leaders also recommended that leaders of the City Party Committee, the City People's Council and the City People's Committee continue to be determined and drastic in directing and operating to drive the City overcome challenges, maintain sustainable development in the coming years, especially in investment attraction; increase the volume of goods through port, the total investment capital of whole society, the education and attraction of high-quality human resources, the building of cultural projects and institutions, especially in construction of new rural areas and exemplary new rural areas...

Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee answered a number of voters' recommendations.

At the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Mr. Nguyen Van Tung reported and clarified a number of issues that former city leaders stated as: the building of monuments in some areas of the City; the reasons leading to decrease of total investment capital of whole society, the volume of goods through ports; the measures to prevent losses of revenue and expenditure of budget capital...

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the City Party Committee Mr. Tran Luu Quang expressed his sincere thanks to the enthusiastic and responsible contributions of former key city leaders to the contents of session, expressing their accompanying with the city's development in the current period. Secretary of the City Party Committee also hoped that the former city leaders would share with the city's difficulties and challenges; he affirmed that Leaders of the City Party Committee, the City People's Council and the City People's Committee continue to unite, unify and have high determination with the business community and people of the City to effectively implement the set goals and targets. Secretary of the City Party Committee also discussed with voters a number of key solutions to develop the City in the coming time, such as: to implement synchronous digital transformation and make a breakthrough to accelerate administrative reform, thereby making it transparent and creating favorable conditions for businesses, organizations and citizens; continue to raise people's awareness, create consensus in epidemic prevention and control; soon implement the city's general planning as soon as it is approved by the Government to take advantage of specific mechanisms approved by the National Assembly; develop a specific mechanism to focus on investment, attract investment in the construction of dangerously degraded apartment buildings associated with social housing to attract laborers, meet the needs of industrial parks and clusters in the City.
