On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Year of 2025, on the afternoon of January 21, Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee, and Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation, presided over a meeting with Professors, People’s Teachers, People’s Physicians, People’s Artists, Meritorious Teachers, Meritorious Physicians, Meritorious Artists, Meritorious Artisans in the field of intangible cultural heritage, Meritorious Artisans in the field of handicrafts, artists awarded the State Prize, the Ho Chi Minh Prize, and artists with outstanding achievements in 2024.
The event was attended by Mr. Do Manh Hien, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Mr. Dao Trong Duc, Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; Ms. Dao Khanh Ha, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee; Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee; and Mr. Bui Duc Quang, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Council.
In the warm and friendly atmosphere of the days before Tet, the representatives of intellectuals, artists, and exemplary artisans shared their joy and pride at the city’s impressive breakthroughs in 2024. They also expressed honor and pride in contributing positively to the city’s collective success in fields such as healthcare, education, literature, and art. The city’s attention, support, and investment in the intellectual, scientific, and artistic communities have served as an important source of motivation and encouragement, not only to bring glory to the Port City but also to leave a deep mark in the nation’s history. Honoring these outstanding individuals also helps foster a sense of pride among Hai Phong’s residents about their hometown, its people, and its cultural heritage.
Speaking at the program, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau acknowledged, praised, and congratulated the great contributions of the intellectuals, artists, and artisans to the development of the city and the country. He emphasized that in the city’s overall development achievements—especially in 2024—the intellectuals, artists, and artisans of Hai Phong, including those living and working in Hai Phong as well as those living across the country and abroad, have made great contributions. These contributions have not only benefited the city but also elevated Hai Phong’s standing both nationally and internationally.
Affirming that Hai Phong is entering a particularly important stage in its development journey, full of opportunities but also challenges, Mr. Le Tien Chau emphasized that Hai Phong must be a place that gathers and promotes the intelligence and talents of the city’s outstanding and dedicated intellectuals, artists, and artisans. He called on the city’s Party Committees and authorities to effectively implement Resolution No. 17 of the City Party Committee’s Standing Committee on attracting, valuing, and developing talent and high-quality human resources for Hai Phong until 2030, with a vision to 2050. This includes unprecedented, breakthrough policies such as selecting outstanding students directly from schools; implementing special recruitment and talent discovery policies; and continuing to innovate the process of honoring exemplary intellectuals, artists, and artisans. This recognition will be based on concrete, measurable, and practical results on the principle of “for the development of the city,” reflecting a deep culture of valuing talent.
He also stressed the need to promptly implement Resolution No. 57 (dated December 22, 2024) of the Politburo on breakthroughs in national science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation, contributing to making Hai Phong a promising land for startups and innovative enterprises.
The Party, government, and people of the city believe that the intellectuals, artists, and artisans of Hai Phong will continue to promote their role, make greater efforts, and contribute even more to the development of the city and the country.
