On the afternoon of February 21, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of the City People's Committee checked the progress of renovating Song Gia Boat Racing Area and Lach Tray Stadium.
The Chairman was accompanied by Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments, agencies.

Through the field inspection at Song Gia Boat Racing area and Lach Tray Stadium as well as reports of Department of Culture and Sports, contractors and relevant departments, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung emphasized that though many project items were going according to schedule, the renovation of Lach Tray Stadium’s main gate area and a number of project items at Song Gia Boat Racing area, especially the procurement of competition equipment, still fell short of plan. The Chairman requested Department of Culture and Sports with relevant units continue to accelerate the implementation of project items at those two areas as the city's previous announcements. He also suggested that Office of the City People's Committee review project stages, clearly identify reasons for delay, thereby speed up the completion of project items. He requested Department of Finance to allocate 30 billion VND, ensuring 80% of the capital to implement works at Song Gia Boat Racing area; required contractors seriously ensure the highest quality and fine art of projects. The uncovered land of Song Gia Boat Racing area would be urgently planted casuarina or acacia trees; immediately leveling cleared land areas. About Lach Tray Stadium, Department of Culture and Sports quickly implement bidding packages to complete renovation phases and propose new arising items to the City for consideration. The Department considered socialization sources for the housing area of athletes and players at Lach Tray .

Song Gia Boat Racing Area for Rowing and Canoeing of the 31st SEA Games would undergo major renovation given the systems of stands, concrete yards, internal roads, parking lots, major repairs of buildings, boat storages as well as equipment procurement for the 31st SEA Games competition... About Lach Tray Stadium, in the initial renovation stage, new lighting frame, grass, function rooms were completed..., and the replacement of seat system was currently under construction and striving for completion in April. However, the main gate, flagpole and drainage system need to be accelerated to soon finish project on renovating Lach Tray Stadium./.
