Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau Welcomes a Delegation from the Special Economic Zone Research Center, Shenzhen University (China)

Le Tien Chau, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee, and Head of Hai Phong's National Assembly Delegation, welcomed a delegation from the Special Economic Zone Research Center, Shenzhen University (China), during their visit to explore investment opportunities in Hai Phong.
On the afternoon of April 17, Secretary Le Tien Chau hosted the delegation led by Ms. Dao Nhat Dao, Director of the Special Economic Zone Research Center, Shenzhen University. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority; Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee; and representatives of relevant departments and agencies.
Mr. Le Tien Chau warmly welcomed the delegation and shared Hai Phong's outstanding socio-economic development achievements. He emphasized the city's strategic advantages, including its geographical location, modern and integrated transportation infrastructure, and key facilities like Cat Bi International Airport and Lach Huyen Port.
The Secretary noted that Hai Phong is home to nearly 400 investment projects from Chinese investors (including mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong), with a total investment capital exceeding $6 billion. These projects have significantly contributed to the city's socio-economic growth. Additionally, Hai Phong has established cooperative and friendly relations with several Chinese provinces and cities across various sectors such as investment, trade, transportation, education, and socio-cultural exchanges. These efforts have expanded opportunities for trade, development cooperation, and strengthened peaceful, united, and friendly relations with Chinese localities for the mutual benefit of the people in both regions.
Mr. Le Tien Chau highlighted Hai Phong's initiative to develop an eco-economic zone integrated with a circular economy in the southern part of the city, covering 20,000 hectares. He invited the delegation to share their knowledge and experience in developing and managing economic zones, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, industry, ports, logistics, and free trade zone models.
He also encouraged Shenzhen University to expand cooperation with universities, colleges, and vocational training institutions in Hai Phong. Potential collaborative efforts include student exchanges, scholarships, and Chinese language training to develop high-quality human resources. The Secretary reaffirmed Hai Phong's commitment to providing favorable conditions for foreign investors to conduct efficient and successful business in the city.

The delegation expressed a strong desire to enhance mutual understanding and share expertise in developing special economic zones and free trade zones. They also emphasized their commitment to advancing cooperation in key areas of mutual interest, including infrastructure investment, supporting industries, tourism, services, and human resource training.
This visit laid the groundwork for further deepening cooperation and fostering sustainable development between Hai Phong and Shenzhen University.
