On the morning of February 7, in the exciting atmosphere of early days of spring, at An Duong Park, An Duong Town (An Duong District), An Duong District held launching ceremony of “Tree-planting festival: Forever grateful to Uncle Ho” on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2022, which was attended by Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Delegation of National Assembly Deputies Mr. Le Anh Quan, Member of the City Party Committee’s Standing Board, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; representatives and leaders of departments, agencies, branches and An Duong District.

After the launching ceremony, Mr. Tran Luu Quang together with the city’s leaders, delegates and people participated in planting trees at An Duong Park. As planned, on this year event, An Duong District had planted more than 1,400 trees including: Acacia mangium (keo tai tuong), Cinnamomum camphora (long nao), Flamboyant, Bauhinia variegata (ban)... along inter-commune and inter-village roads, canal banks, ditch banks, public areas, historical and cultural relics, concentrated farms, riverside areas...

Immediately after the tree-planting ceremony, localities and units simultaneously and actively responded to the tree-planting festival in their areas. In order for new year tree-planting festival to become real effective activities, An Duong District requested all levels of Party committees and local authorities to pay attention to directly and widely launching tree-planting campaign with the motto: "every household grows trees, every person plants trees, all people plant trees" in association with building new exemplary rural areas, developing a green and sustainable economy, mitigating climate change impact, creating ecological landscape and environment, strengthening propaganda and education to raise awareness, as well as encouraging people and communities to participate in tree planting and protection, increasing green tree coverage in the district area. Besides, paying sepcial attention to restructuring crops, renovating mixed gardens, planting trees with high economic efficiency such as: Fruit trees, flowers and ornamental plants of district strengths, contributing to local economic development, creating landscapes and protecting ecological environment./.
