(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of March 17, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of Hai Phong’s Delegation of the National Assembly’s Deputies paid a working visit to a number of projects in Hai Phong economic zones, who was accompanied by Mr. Le Anh Quan, Member of the City Party Committee’s Standing Board, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Le Trung Kien, Member of the City Party Committee’s Standing Board, Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority; leaders of relevant departments, branches and Hai An District.

At Pegatron Vietnam project phase 2 at Lot CN 3B, Deep C 2A industrial park, which has a total current investment capital of 500 million USD, with a total land area of 346,330 m2, the Company voiced its expectation that the City would support to recruit local labor sources and workers from other provinces; create favorable conditions in utilities and infrastructure construction ; land leveling for the Company’s dormitory soon accomplishment.

At Tesa Hai Phong tape factory at Lot CN 2A, Deep C 2B industrial park, which has an investment capital of 55 million Euro, divided into 2 phases, the Company suggested that the City pay more attention to the relocation of Dinh Vu landfill so as not to affect the health of employees, workers, as well as customers and visitors of the factory.

At the meeting with the Secretary, USI Vietnam factory at Lot CN4.1H, Dinh Vu industrial park, specializing in the production and assembly of electronic circuit boards for wearable devices, suggested that the City (1) pay more attention to vocational training for employees voicing its current difficulty in recruiting technicians to operate high-precision equipment, machinery automation; (2) create favorable conditions for enterprises in procedures and infrastructure planning, electricity and water supply for the Company during the workers’ dorm construction employees housing projects; installing traffic lights at the intersection from Mac Thai To street to industrial park; planning for traffic lane separation on the road section to Deep C industrial park...

At the meeting after the inspection, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the City Party Committee thanked businesses for choosing Hai Phong as a destination for investment and development. He also highly appreciate the enterprises’ attempt , in quickly implementing projects and emphasized their moves in long-term sustainable investment in the City such as: building dormitories for workers, laborers; building research and development centers; accepting to deal with competition.
Mr. Secretary affirmed that the city leaders and the city people considered the success of enterprises as the overall success of Hai Phong City, so it was both sides’ responsibility to solve all difficulties and problems. Well aware thaht the most important factor in attracting investment, production and business was the labor sources’ quality in which competition existed in among localities as well as within enterprises themselves, the City would invest in infrastructure and improve people's living standard to attract workers from other provinces to live and work in Hai Phong. However, as the decisive factors to attract employees to work at enterprises were salary, allowances, working conditions, and culture of enterprises in attracting labor resources, businesses should come up with thorough solutions for sustainable labor sources. For vocational training, the City would take action to find labor resources while businesses also needed to closely coordinate with the City in providing information and supporting vocational training for workers.
Regarding the proposal on relocating Dinh Vu landfill, Secretary of the City Party Committee said that, there would be another landfill to reduce pressures on this one in the short term and a waste treatment plant with advanced technology in this area to ensure environmental conditions in the long run. Regarding the installation of traffic lights, the lane separation of container trucks and buses on the road to Deep C industrial park, the construction of technical infrastructure for dormitories, he assigned the City People's Committee, Economic Zone Authority to direct relevant departments, units to coordinate for implementation.
