
Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee, formally received Colonel Yvonne van Beusekom, Commanding Officer of the HNLMS TROMP escort vessel, for a courtesy meeting.
On the afternoon of May 24th, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, welcomed the Royal Netherlands Navy delegation, led by Colonel Yvonne van Beusekom, Captain of the HNLMS TROMP, on a courtesy visit to Hai Phong. Also present at the meeting were Kees van Baar, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam, and representatives from various relevant departments and agencies.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong introduced the delegation to Hai Phong’s notable achievements in socio-economic development, as well as its strategic geographical location. He emphasized that, in recent years, Hai Phong, alongside the rest of the country, has strengthened cooperation with Dutch partners. Currently, Dutch projects in Hai Phong have a total investment capital of 302 million USD, focusing on shipbuilding, maritime equipment manufacturing, warehousing, animal feed production, seafood feed, and trade. Furthermore, Hai Phong and Dutch localities and businesses maintain good relations in cultural exchange, business networking, investment promotion, and trade.
Mr. Cuong reiterated that, based on the long-standing and positive relationship between the two nations in general, and between Hai Phong and Dutch partners in particular, the city aspires to further enhance bilateral cooperation in a broad range of fields, thereby leveraging the full potential and advantages of both parties.

On behalf of the delegation, Mrs, Colonel Yvonne van Beusekom, Captain of the Royal Netherlands Navy’s HNLMS TROMP, expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the city’s leaders and was pleased to visit the beautiful, dynamic port city of Hai Phong. It is noted that the visit is part of the cooperation framework between the two countries, contributing to enhancing bilateral ties, especially between the armed forces and navies of the two nations.
