Remarkable achievements gained by the City Red Cross Associate in the 2016-2021 period

On July 24, the City Red Cross Associate (the Associate) organized the 13^th Congress term 2022-2027, which marked the new chapter of the City Red Cross work.

Looking back the previous five years from 2016 to 2021, thanks to the joint effort of the city’s all levels, agencies and people, the Associate had achieved remarkable results as follows:

1. Total humanitarian value increased by 2.8 times compared to that of the previous term.
2. The campaign “Each organization, each individual takes charge of one humanitarian address” assisted 37,517 people, monthly supporting 7,517 addresses, and uploaded about 200 addresses on the National Humanitarian Portal (INHDAO).
3. 296,018 gifts had been offered under the framework of the program “Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims” .
4. The campaign “Each penny makes a great contribution – New year gifts for the poor and Agent Orange victims” mobilized an amount of 17.5 billion dong that was to support 40,000 poor students with gifts and scholarship.
5. 297 Red Cross houses for poor families were newly built and repaired; 09 residential bridges were accomplished; 350 humanitarian boxes were placed collecting 1.7 billion dong.
6. 32.583 billion dong was gathered in the Month of Philanthropy.
7. 2.83 billion dong projects sponsored by International Red Cross through Vietnam Red Cross Central Associate were implemented; 132 breeding cows worth 2.2 billion dong were offered in the Project “Bank of cows”.
8. A support of 5.4 billion dong to emulation clusters, provinces and cities; 3,000 gifts were presented to provinces suffering from natural disasters; 14 Red Cross houses were built/repaired; more than 3,000 people received free medical check and drug.
9. Free health examination and medicine delivery was provided to 97,450 people. 208 first-aid training classes were organized with the particiation of 5,350 staffs and volunteers. 6.9 billion dong financial aid was provided to places impacted by the pandemic COVID-19.
10. 209,670 units of blood was donated voluntarily.

With those aforementioned achievements during the period of 2016 - 2021, the Central Association and the City had rewarded Merit Certificate and Excellent Emulation Flag to the Associate, collectives and individuals with significant contribution./.
