The scene of launching ceremony
On the morning of October 14, at the City Convention Center, the City Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front held the ceremony to launch of the peak month "For the poor" (from October 17 to November 18).
The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Cao Xuan Lien, Member of the City Party Committee’s Standing Board, Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Head of Fundraising Committee of the City Fund for the Poor; Mr. Bui Duc Quang, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; representatives of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Districts and its organization members, businesses, benefactors of the City.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Cao Xuan Lien, Chairman of the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Head of Fundraising Committee of the City Fund for the Poor recognized and highly appreciated that sectors, levels, businesses, entrepreneurs and all classes of people enthusiastically responded, actively participated and made practical contributions to the sustainable poverty reduction and social security of the City over the past time. Being well aware of the significance of poverty eradication in the city's socio-economic development plan, responding to the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one will be left behind” launched by Prime Minister, in the past 9 months, the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Fundraising Committee of the city fund for the Poor has achieved great results in disseminating exemplary models and effective ways to help poor members and poor households to rise out of poverty. As a result, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels of the City had mobilized 15.5 billion VND, thereby supporting the construction and repair of 245 houses, giving more than 254 thousand gifts... to poor and near-poor households. The city strives to have no poor households by 2021 in accordance with the national standard in the period of 2016-2020.
However, according to Decree No. 07/2021/ND-CP on stipulating the multidimensional poverty in the period of 2021-2025, it is forecasted that in early 2022, the City will have about 23,000 poor households, about 1,200 of which are deeply poor, difficult to rise out of poverty. Therefore, in the peak month "For the Poor", it is requested that all-level Party committees and Authorities continue to pay attention to and direct to implement poverty eradication tasks in a pratical and effective way. Businesses and benefactors show affection and responsibility to contribute to the Fund for the Poor to create more resources to implement the poverty eradication program, ensure social security, and perform the city's sustainable development goals.

At the conference, the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee received nearly 23 billion VND, 13 billion VND of which was from businesses and benefactors; Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Districts mobilized about 10 billion VND./.
