
In the afternoon of March 13, Chairman Nguyen Van Tung of the City People's Committee held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Bader Abdulla Almatrooshi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to discuss the socio-economic landscape and investment opportunities in Hai Phong city. Also present were Mr. Bui Ha Nam, Director of the Middle East-Africa Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and various city department and branch leaders.
During the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee presented a comprehensive analysis of the socio-economic status of Hai Phong. The city consistently maintains an annual GRDP growth rate between 10 - 13%, positioning itself at the forefront of the nation. Furthermore, there is a strong emphasis on enhancing tourism infrastructure, particularly in the Cat Ba archipelago - a UNESCO-recognized World Natural Heritage site, alongside Ha Long Bay.
Expressing gratitude to the Chairman of the City People's Committee for the gracious reception, Mr. Bader Abdulla Almatrooshi acknowledged the significant advancements in the relationship between Vietnam and the UAE in recent years. He expressed eagerness to enhance the bilateral ties between the two countries. The Ambassador articulated his intention to bolster collaborations with UAE entities on various urban initiatives, particularly those pertaining to free trade zones and sustainable energy projects.
