Promising Future for the Berlin-Brandenburg Automotive Association in Hai Phong

On November 6, 2024, Hai Phong's Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Vietnam Trade Office in Germany, hosted a business networking event titled "Connecting the Berlin-Brandenburg Automotive Association with Hai Phong Enterprises." The event was aimed at establishing and expanding the cooperation network between Vietnam and Germany, particularly between the cities of Berlin, Brandenburg, and Hai Phong in the automotive and mechanical industries. It also sought to enhance the potential for collaboration in these sectors, encouraging Hai Phong's  The event was attended by 50 representatives, including officials from the Department of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Trade Office in Germany, local business associations, and 11 representatives from the Berlin-Brandenburg Automotive Association.
 
The primary goal of the event was to promote market access and explore business opportunities for Hai Phong's enterprises, particularly in the automotive and mechanical industries, with a focus on expanding into the German market. It also aimed to strengthen collaboration between Hai Phong businesses and German counterparts, while attracting foreign investment into vehicle manufacturing and the production of automotive parts and accessories, thus adding value to Hai Phong's exports.
In his remarks, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thành, Director of Hai Phong's Department of Industry and Trade, emphasized the ever-strengthening strategic partnership between Vietnam and Germany. He highlighted that Germany is a significant export market for Hai Phong, with exports exceeding imports by more than three times. In the first nine months of 2024, Hai Phong's total trade volume with Germany reached 129.37 million USD, marking a 33% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thành also presented an overview of Hai Phong's investment environment and its strengths, particularly in the automotive and supporting industries. Local businesses expressed their eagerness to collaborate and exchange experiences with the Berlin-Brandenburg Automotive Association and German automotive enterprises in the future. The event offered a valuable opportunity for Hai Phong's automotive sector to explore new avenues for growth, collaboration, and investment, signaling promising prospects for deeper ties between Hai Phong and Germany in the years to come.
