The King and Queen of Belgium are scheduled to undertake a state visit to Vietnam in late March to early April. During the visit, the delegation will visit Hai Phong.
On January 12, the advance team from Belgium, led by Mr. Tom De Vleeschauwer, Head of the Royal Protocol Office of the Kingdom of Belgium, conducted an inspection trip to Hai Phong. The team also included representatives from the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Royal Household, the Belgian Trade Agency, the Belgian Embassy in Vietnam, and representatives from Deep C Industrial Zone Complex.
In the morning, the advance team surveyed and inspected infrastructure at locations designated for the visit.
In the afternoon, the team held a working session with the Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs regarding the King and Queen of Belgium’s visit to the city. During the meeting, both sides discussed the detailed itinerary of the delegation’s activities in Hai Phong, transportation arrangements, and requirements for protocol, logistics, security, and healthcare. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bich Dung, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, affirmed her commitment to closely support and coordinate with the Belgian Embassy in Vietnam in all preparations before and during the upcoming visit of the King and Queen of Belgium.

On the morning of January 14, the Department of Foreign Affairs arranged for the Belgian advance team to inspect Cat Bi Airport and conduct a working session with representatives of the Northern Airport Authority at Cat Bi International Airport and the Airport Authority.
