(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of March 02, the City People’s Committee listened to the draft Plan to organize activities to celebrate the important events in May 2022, including the 67th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2022. Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee hosted the meeting, with participation of representatives of related departments, agencies, localities and units.

It is expected that on that occasion, the city will organize commemorative activities attached with cultural, art, sports, and tourism exchanges to welcome major events in May, such as Do Son Tourism with Dragon Boat Racing Festival on the Sea, antique cars display and parade, EDM Electronic Music Festival, “Colors of the Sea” art show, Cat Ba tourism, travels at historical sites. Boost up propaganda and advertisement on tourism promotion, attractive tourist tours preparation for people and tourists during that occasion. At the same time, the city will organize commencement and inauguration of a number of key projects and works. Particularly, the city will host the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2022 with the topic “Hai Phong destination of success”; the event will take place in 03 days from May 11 to May 13, 2022, ensuring practical, safe, effective, economical requirements.

After listening to opinions of relevant Departments, agencies, localities, and units about content of the Plan on the organization and implementation activities, Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee emphasized, despite complication of the COVID-19 pademic, the rate of vaccinated people is high, 50% of the city’s people being vaccinated with 3rd dose, severe cases and deaths have been low. The Central Government decided to reopen all tourist activities in new normal conditions since March 15, 2022. Hence, the Standing Board of the City Party directs celebration of major events in this May, focusing on the 67th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2022, to propagate and educate the Party Committee, government and people of the city on patriotism, historical and cultural traditions of the nation and homeland, creating momentum to boost up the industrialization and modernization and international integration, responding to the Central Government’s direction on reopening tourist activities from March 15, 2022, and enriching cultural and spiritual life of the people of the port city.
Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, required anniversary activities and the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2022 to occur solemnly. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare carefully, carefully draft the scripts and invite guests in accordance with the actual epidemic situation. Cultural and artistic activities need to be unique, impressive, creating opportunities for tourism promotion. Also, the city needs to seek advice on fireworks, carefully prepare related works such as: holding a press conference one month before the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2022, organizing fundraising and socialization, preparing plan for social safety, security, order during the festival, managing food hygiene and safety, ensuring measures for the pandemic COVID-19 prevention and control, etc. that is all to contribute to creating a good image and impression in the hearts of the tourists when they arrive in Hai Phong.
