After 03 months of launching, the 7th Korean Language Competition gladly received hundreds of registrations from contestants from Korean language centers, universities, colleges, and Korean companies in the city. After going through the primary examination, the Organization chose 50 contestants to participate in the direct interview round, and the result was that 10 contestants were selected for the final round to compete in 02 competition boards, one for beginners and another for advanced level. The both latter would take place on November 27th of 2021 at the City Conference Center. The contestants well prepared for their presentations at the final round and were very excited to present themselves to get the highest achievement.
In this year, the competition got interests from partners, including Korean Embassy to Vietnam, Korean Association in Hai Phong and Korean FDI companies at Trang Due IP and Deep C. That was the first event getting Korean Embassy’s participation, since the Korean Embassy signed in MOU with Hai Phong People’s Committee in June of 2021 for purposes of strengthening cooperation in educational and cultural exchanges, in which there were human resource quality, upgradation of teaching and learning Korean in Hai Phong in order to become a typical model of the country, and then to consolidate mutual understanding and friendship between future generations of the both countries.
It needed to underline that, currently in Hai Phong City, Korea is the leading country among 43 countries and territories in terms of foreign direct investment in terms of number of projects as well as registered capital. By now, Korean entrepreneurs have invested 171 in projects with a total capital of 9.46 billion USD that accounted for 21.54% of valid projects, and accounted for 42.35% of a total registered capital in current validity in Hai Phong. Also, Hai Phong has emerged as one of the leading localities which made the most impression in the overview of Vietnam – Korea cooperation.
Moving toward 30-year anniversary of Vietnam – Korea diplomatic relation establishment (22/12/1992-22/12/2022), Hai Phong City and Korean partners have continuously implemented cooperative activities in fields of economy, culture, education, including the 8th Korean Language Competition. That would become one of highlights in 2022.
In this year, flexible changes in organization aligned with growing cooperation between the city and Korean partners, the upcoming final round would make an imprint and emotion to the contestants and delegates. We have looked forward to the excellent performance of the contestants and together to expand the message on learning and applying foreign languages movement, thereby consolidating friendship and cooperation between Hai Phong and Korean localities, pushing up cultural exchange and experience sharing in the country’s development.
