Outstanding Performance by the Cuban National Ballet Theatre Troupe

On the evening of November 29, at the City Theatre, the City People's Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Vietnam, organized a program featuring the Cuban National Ballet Theatre.
The program was chaired by the Department of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with related units, as part of the Cuban National Ballet Theatre's Asian tour. It also commemorates 60 years since the Cuban National Ballet Theatre first visited Vietnam and had the honor of meeting President Hồ Chí Minh in 1964.
The event was attended by Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, the designated Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam; Ms. Nguyễn Bích Dung, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs; representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, various departments, agencies, and units; along with a large audience of city art enthusiasts.

Each performance delivered a visual feast for the audience.
Established in 1948, the Cuban National Ballet Theatre holds a significant position among the world's great ballet troupes. In addition to its active operations in Cuba, the troupe has conducted numerous international tours, won many prestigious awards, and received high praise from art critics.

A pinnacle performance of ballet artistry.
At the program, Cuban National Ballet Theatre artists performed remarkable pieces such as Sylphides, Carmen, Spring Waters, and The Nutcracker. The city's audience was also treated to a stellar performance in the ballet Fear of Losing Love. This ballet draws inspiration from the life of the great French singer Édith Piaf (1915–1963) and features selected works that truthfully reflect her tragic love life. The skillful and artistic execution reached the highest level of ballet, prompting continuous rounds of applause from the audience.
This event marks the beginning of a series of activities commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba, which will take place in 2025. The meaningful program brings Cuban culture and art closer to the city's public, promotes people-to-people exchanges, and strengthens the friendly relations between the two nations.
