On the morning of April 12, at the City Convention Center, the City People’s Council held the opening ceremony of the 5th session (thematic session) of the 16th City People’s Council (the 2021-2026 tenure), which was attended by leaders of the city and departments, branches, localities.
The one-day session included the following main contents: adjust the public investment plan in 2021, 2022 and the period of 2021 - 2025; approve the project on building social housing in combination with housing settlement for households living in old apartment buildings in the city area, the project on financial support to develop Hai Phong Football Club; adjust the investment policies on a number of important programs and projects in the city; listen to the City People's Committee’s report about the project on adjusting the general planning of Hai Phong City to 2040, with a vision to 2050; temporary regulations on financial support for medical staffs working at mobile medical stations and participate in treating Covid-19 patients; programs on building green parks.
The session is of great significance to socio-economic development with direct affect on the lives of a large number of the city people. The promulgated resolutions will create the foundation to speedup the programs and projects as well as facilitate the key projects implementation in 2022, the embellishment of urban areas and the city’s recovery for strong socio-economic development after Covid-19 pandemic.
